A deliberately tongue-in-cheek title for a blog dedicated to the Napoleonic era, from the point of view of a Napoleonic history 'buff' and wargamer. "Reddition d'Ulm, 20 octobre 1805" from Wikimedia Commons
The brown that began with Ottoman Deli cavalry carried on to adding backpacks and musket wood to these before it took me to First World War German infantry!
Thanks Joe, a man after my own heart then?! One of the great interests and joys of painting is how the figures slowly 'come to life' with each colour or detail. Regards, James
I do envy people that can turn their minds to several projects at once James. I find I have to finish whatever I am working on before allowing myself to look at anything else, out of fear I'll never return back to that unit again.
Thank you for your encouragement Lawrence. Your approach is far more sensible and I reckon the proof is in your output compared with my many in various stages of yet-to-be. That said, I am determined in my plan to bring a heap of them to completion over coming weeks, months (and years)!
I'll look forward to seeing those Soviets Mark. I'd guess that, at best, it amounts to the same thing. I take ages to complete any, but (hopefully) get a lot done in the end. You (and most sensible people) get smaller numbers completed in a much shorter time. All going well I'll have something like 1 000 or so painted by the end of the year, but it will have taken a good year to finish them!
Funny , my colors seem to migrate as well. Troops are looking good.

Now that is production line painting, James!
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter. It does not make for much of a post, but the drive to show progress is a stimulus to progress!

DeleteI've been tempted to put up some progress posts on my Soviets, but hope to have a few finished soon.
ReplyDeleteI thought I was good tackling 40 at a time, but your number is very impressive!
